The Research On Wang Tianyu’s Shang Shu Zuan Zhuan

Shang Shu Zuan Zhuan was Wang Tianyu’s annotations work of Shang Shu in Yuan dynasty,which book was under the influences of the academic atmosphere and the era backgrounds.This article based on Shang Shu Zuan Zhuan mainly from the styles of interpretation,the thoughts,the valuable analysis of the saints image,as well the identity construction of the adherents of Song Dynasty and so on four aspects are discussed.The first part describes the styles of interpretation of Shang Shu Zuan Zhuan in details from three aspects: Shang Shu Zuan Zhuan adhered to the neo-confucianism thought,payed attention to both the explanation of words and moral principle in ancient books,and made detailed exegeses about words,chapters,institutions and namee of materials.For making it easy to be accepted and understood,Wang Tianyu payed attention to affirming the chapter’s essential points of Confucian classics,and made detailed problem solving,summarized each section point,and always made conclusion at the end of the article,in order to popularizing the righteousness of Confucian classics,and gainning an insight into saints.In the classics Wang Tianyu inherited Zhu Xi’s academic ideas,and under the sticking to the aim of Neo-Confucianism,also picked several other points as a supplement,which was conducive to save theories and made it possible to overview its origin.Wang Tianyu seldom made his own comments in exegesisc,and never made alternative all by his own menas,but thus would left disadvantages of unknown ambiguous about some questions and disputes.Of the second part,the paper expounds the thoughts of exegesisc in Shang Shu Zuan Zhuan dividing into three sections: exploring the Confucianism,such as the moral-mind heart and the will of people,manifest destiny and temperament,worship and cultivating moral characters and so on some specific problems relating to the theory of willing and cultivating.The book used the methods of history and Confucian classics to discuss the society thoughts,explored the survival principles and manners of governing revolutions.With the help of history,the book interpretaing the key to survival,governing revolution profoundly and advocating the King and Princes doing their duties,so as to hang the commandment to the afterlife.Wang Tianyu adhered tothe worship of ancient thoughts in the early Yuan dynasty academic atmosphere,expressed the conservative attitude to the suspicious of Confucian classics of the Confucian scholars of the Song Dynasty,in order to showing the maintenance and affirmation for scripture’s authority.In the third part,this paper discusses the valuable interpretation of the saints image in Shang Shu Zuan Zhuan made by Wang Tian Yu..Shang Shu Zuan Zhuan made a detailed interpretation and shape from respecting virtues,mercy and his cautious punishment and industrious attaching on the two aspects of internal saints and external kings,which focus on the King of Yao,Shun,Yu,Tang,and Wen.At the same time,Shang Shu Zuan Zhuan analyzed the political concepts and connotations of saint’s rules from the perspective of political and cultural.The interpretation and shape of saint image also expressed to the desire of restoring and rebuilding the traditional values and Confucian ethics.The fourth part explores Shang Shu Zuan Zhuan and the identity construction of the adherents of Song Dynasty,these mainly embodied in two aspects: Shang Shu Zuan Zhuan presented Wang Tianyu fused the Sinology and Song learning from two aspects of style and thought in a comprehensive way,and tried to continue the tradition of the neo-confucianism and the Sinology.Faced with the the mode of Chinese political culture are hit by the mixed,as a traditional Confucian scholars,Wang Tianyu conveyed his identities by the shaping and understanding of the saints image,which contains the cultural identity of Confucian traditional culture what two Emperors and three Kings symbolize and the political identity of the ideal political pattern and ideal society what saint’s rules represent.
