The Study Of Confucian Education In Han Dynasty

Confucian classics education has been spread widely during the past more than two thousand years. It can be traced back to Chunqiuzhanguo Period in late Zhou Dynasty. But its formally established is after Emperor Hanwu's policy of getting rid of other school, only advocating Confucianism. It can be said that Han Dynasty is the self-exploration and self-development period of the Confucian classics education. The Confucian ethics and values that it advocated had affected every aspect of our lives today. So Confucian classics education is a worthy topic of study and exploration.Han Dynasty is the initial formation period of the basic outline of the education system of Chinese feudal society. The awareness and attention of the ruling class on Confucian made an open academic atmosphere and liberal civil academic environment so that Confucian classics education has reached unprecedented prosperity and became the core of education system in Han Dynasty.In this paper, I took the basic principles of pedagogy as a theoretical support, and integrated the method of literature research, history research, comparative research. I started from educational thought of the Han Dynasty's thinkers and summarized the educational theory by deeply detailed analysis. It is mainly on the following five parts: the purpose of education, the role of education, content system, forms of education and teaching methods.The first part based on the historical facts and reviewed the development of the history of Confucian classics education. It took a brief introduction on the spread of the Confucianism in the early Han Dynasty and explained the social reasons on the prosperity and decline of the Confucian classics education in Han Dynasty.The second part set out the purpose of education and its important position in Han society.The third part started from the education system of the official school and the private school and the different stages of the learners. It elaborated the education system of the Confucian classics education of Han Dynasty.The fourth part summed up the forms of education and teaching methods by the study on the whole process of the Confucian classics education in Han Dynasty.Based on the study above, the fifth part summed up the positive and negative effects of Confucian classics education in Han Dynasty. By learning from history and combining with the reality of today's education, I expounded the enlightenment of the Confucian classics education to the education system nowadays and the educational reform.
