A Study On Hubei Agriculture-improving Organization(1937-1949)

Agriculture of Hubei Province plays an important role in China.Before the Opium War Hubei led a natural economy of Self-sufficiency,while after the Opium War Hubei conformed to the trend of the times and underwent a transition in its economic pattern by establishing modern agriculture organizations for agricultural improvement and promotion.In the early days of resistance the Nanjing national government required every province to set up a agriculture-improving organization in need of war and agricultural improvement.Thus Hubei agriculture-improving organization emerged as the times required.This thesis falls into five chapters.Chapter one expatiates the background of establishment and the developing process of Hubei agriculture-improving organization and forms a brief description of it.Then the following three chapters states the main functions of the organization from the aspects of agriculture improvement,agriculture promotion and the prevention and treatment of agricultural diseases.And chapter five analyses the achievements and positive impact in the course between the establishment and revocation of the organization and unfavorable factors that restrained its development.Through the exposition the author hopes to give a fair evaluation of the organization.
