A Report On The Translation Of Precision Agriculture For Grain Production Systems (Chapters One,Two And Three)

Precision Agriculture(PA),also known as precision agriculture or fine farming,is a comprehensive integrated high-tech agricultural application system that has been developed in recent years for field crop cultivation.Precision agriculture uses 3S(GPS,GIS and RS)and other high-tech technologies combined with modern agricultural technology to implement modern agricultural production technology with precise timing,positioning and quantitative control of agricultural materials and agricultural production,which can maximize agricultural productivity.It is an effective way to achieve sustainable agriculture with high quality,high yield,low consumption and environmental protection.Therefore,the translation of precision agriculture is extremely important.This translation practice material is excerpted from Precision Agriculture for Grain Production Systems,co-edited by Bremeasuring tt Whelan and James Taylor.This book describes the role of remote sensing systems in crop,soil and environmental changes and explores how these changes can have a major impact on crop production systems.This translation project selected the first chapter on precision agriculture,the second chapter on the global positioning satellite system and precision agriculture part,and the third chapter on precision agriculture related facilities as the source text.The translator conducts English-Chinese translation practice according to Nida's functional equivalence translation theory.This translation practice report consists of four chapters:translation project description,translation description,case analysis and summary.The first chapter is the project description,which mainly includes the project background,project introduction and project significance.The second chapter is the translation description,which mainly includes pre-translation preparation:collection of materials,analysis of the stylistic features,theory foundation,and the guiding significance of functional equivalence theory;major difficulties in translation:vocabulary understanding,vocabulary expression,vocabulary of agricultural science,vocabulary types and word meaning selection.The third chapter is the case analysis.From the two perspectives of understanding and expression,the translator analyzes the examples in the practice of English-Chinese translation in precision agriculture under the guidance of the functional equivalence theory.The fourth chapter is a summary,which introduces the experience and understanding of translation,and lists the problems in the translation process.Through this translation practice report,the author hopes to improve his ability to correctly understand and express the words in the specific text of the translation of agricultural science literature,and to provide reference for the translation of similar texts and other relevant texts in the future.
