The Complex Of DuMu's Jiangnan Poetry

As the most important poet of the late Tang Dynasty, DuMu is concerned by scholars, but the scope of the study is limited. The complex of DuMu's jiangnan poetry is not concerned. So this thesis will centre on this topic.DuMu's jiangnan experience is divided into four parts: the first one is from 828AD. to 835AD., he lived in HongZhou and XuanZhou. The second one is from 837AD. to 839AD., he lived in YangZhou and XuanZhou.The third one is from 842AD. to 848AD., in this period, DuMu secured an official position in HuangZhou, ChiZhou and MuZhou. Not only was his poetry creation prosperity, but also his political achievements is great .The last one is form 850AD. to 851AD., he lived in HuZhou.During in jiangnan, DuMu writed many poems, these works include vast contents, such as history, scene, dancers, sentiment, responsory and so on. The artistic achievements of these poems is so great,and effects the future generations.The experience of jiangnan effects DuMu's character and poetry creation. On the one hand, jiangnan's natural environment, romanticism aesthetic traditions, prosperity and development of city economy caused DuMu's sentimental character, nuttiness, overindulgence. On the other hand, jiangnan's beautiful scenery and long history influenced his creation. It provides poetry material, and also makes his poems appear fresh, bright, plentiful. In addition, jiangnan is far from the political center, and it supplied loose creative environment, stimulating poet's creation. A table was attached to which summarize DuMu's works created in Jiangnan in order to facilitate the preparation of this dissertation.
