The 1894 Sino-Japanese war claims to the whole world that the Qing dynasty was defeated by the tiny island country of Japan, and the whole nation was shocked. As the representatives of reformist, Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao were active in promoting to announce the reform idea in 1898.under the impact of the reform in 1898, the school presented some obvious new changes. The school of Reserve talents in Jiangnan at that time was a very unique school, which was opened by two Jiangs Governor Zhang Zhidong in Guangxu 22 or the year of 1896 to support talent for the dynasty. As the special school where Qing dynasty brought up political talents, it was a complicated integrating school majoring in foreign languages and technical industry during the later period of westernization movement, which is also one of first batch of comprehensive modern schools in the Chinese modern history and one of the first integrating modern schools, including classes and majors of commerce, agricultural politics, industry, and so on. And it opened a new direction of Chinese modern educational system, promoted the formation and the development of the Chinese modern graduation educational system. Westernization movement and the educational schools created is an attentive object for a long time for researchers, and there have been abundant results. But the research of Reserve talents in Jiangnan has not had the special article to carry on the thorough elaboration at present. Based on some historical data which could be found, the paper will plan to research its origination background, the basic survey, the school contents, the historical situation, the influence and so on, principle for describing characters , proofed by experts in this domain.
