This thesis discusses Chinese numerals teaching as a second language to native English speakers at primary or middle lower-intermediate Chinese level.It explains the significance of the issue and reports the difficulties the learners meet in their Chinese numerals learning. Following the brief introduction to Chinese numerals,the thesis analyzes the shortcomings of An Outline of Chinese Words and Phrases(The Revised Version) and the text books from book 1 A to book 3 B of Language Skills in Chinese and provides the author's suggestions to amend the books.Besides,the thesis discusses 1) How to overcome the difficulties in learning Chinese digital units and positions;2) The causes of the common mistakes and the method to correct them;3) The difference between Chinese and English numerals;4) The influence of learners' cognitive field and analogical ability on the misunderstanding of Chinese numerical culture.The thesis aims to solve problems that the native English speakers meet when they are learning Chinese numerals.
