| First,through case study and from two different aspects,the thesis explores the cultural conflicts in cross-cultural teaching of American English teachers in Chinese universities:the cultural conflicts in class between American English teachers and their Chinese students,and the cultural conflicts on management between American English teachers and the Chinese administrative departments.Then,the thesis further explains the deep structures of the cultural conflicts.Finally,the thesis puts forward "acculturation" and "empathy" as the solutions to the cultural conflicts.Through the study,the thesis intends to share some experiences with American English teachers in Chinese universities,the Chinese students and the Chinese administrative departments so as to help achieve more successful intercultural communication in education. |
