| Jiang Kanghu, founder of the China Socialist Party, had been in the spotlight on the stage of Chinese society in the early 20th century. This thesis focuses on Jiang Kanghu, discourses on the formation of his early thought and the main activities of his China Socialist Party and analyzes the social impacts of his ideas and deeds. The author thereby proposes that Jiang's shift of ideas from patriotic reform to the thought of "Three Nons" reflects at a degree the mental development of the patriotic young scholars at that time and that his advocation of socialism and founding of the China Socialist Party promoted indirectly the spreading of scientific socialism in China. The whole thesis contains five chapters.Chapterâ… is an introduction of the thesis. It specifies the origin of this thesis which on the basis of former research on Jiang Kanghu makes clear their limitations and the endeavors of the author and clarifies its sources and methodology.Chapterâ…¡is a brief introduction to Jiang Kanghu. It illustrates and reviews his transition from the early patriotic reform to the thought of "Three Nons"against the general historic landscape of the end of 19th century and the early of 20th century.Chapterâ…¢highlights Jiang's early ideology of socialism. Through the review of his advocation of socialism, this thesis presents that there are mainly three aspects of his socialist ideology, namely the popularization of education, the public expropriation of inheritance and tax on land. It also compares the socialism proposed by Jiang with other doctrines of socialism put forward by reformists, revolutionists and anarchists thereby outlines the major characters Jiang's ideology.Chapterâ…£explores the appeals and social impacts of the China Socialist Party through analysis of the creeds, socialist activities of the China Socialist Party founded by Jiang Kanghu.Chapterâ…¤is the conclusion. It reviews the whole thesis and summarizes the early thoughts and deeds of Jiang Kanghu. This chapter also points out the limitations and future visions of this research. |
