Epigraphy originates in the Song dynasty and gets its peak of popularity in the Qing dynasty. In addition, it grew in popularity in Guangdong Province in the period when emperor Yongzheng and Qianlong control the country, as society was steady and economy was developing in this period.At the same time, the Qing dynasty is also a peak period when chorography developed perfectly. Also, epigraphy played an important role in compiling chorographies. Take Guangdong for example, chorography of Guangdong- summary for epigraphy written in the period of emperor Daoguang is quite a paradigm which embolized the combination of the two totally different styles of study.All above resulted from the Guangdong commander who had maken great efforts to encourage epigraphy.This book made a strong impact in the aftertime. On one hand, it promoted people to combine study method of the epigraphy into chorography, which significantly improved the science level of chorography and became the standard paradigm for compiling summary for epigraphy in the aftertime. On the other hand, it gave birth to the climax for Guangdong to compile chorography, and synchronously, it cultivated a great amount of experts on epigraphy.
