During the Anti-Japanese War, Shaanxi strategic position growing more important, the national government unprecedentedly paid much attention to strengthen the development and construction for Shaanxi rural society, which provided an important opportunity for the changes. The local government also took measures to promote the rural social changes. At the same time, the relatively peaceful and stable social environment in Shaanxi provided an important safeguard for the rural society changes. Lots of emigration who surged in Shaanxi province brought a lot of new atmosphere in the wartime, which influenced the rural production and the peasants' lifestyle. Because of the internal and the external factors, the rural society of Shaanxi province occurred the first truly multi-faceted progressive social changes in the modern time. Such as the structure of the rural politics gradually strengthened, political integration obviously increased; Water conservancy and other agricultural infrastructure construction obtained a remarkable achievement. The application and promotion of the agricultural science and technology had been strengthened. The transformation, which turned from the traditional agriculture to modern agriculture had been speeding up significantly. Shaanxi peasants' spiritual life and physical life also had undergone great changes. Due to the different powers and forces, there were present many characteristics, such as the coexistence of the comprehensiveness and complexity, the duality of the unexpected-exogenous, unbalanced, diversity. The rural society changes of Shaanxi province in the wartime made major and far-reaching influences.Admittedly , Shaanxi rural social changes also existed many limitations and insufficiencies in the wartime. Especially "development for war, failure for war." Those factors restricted the greater changes to play. Those changes just carved a modern skin on the shell of the feudal connotation, which didn't change the backward circumstances of the rural society fundamentally. It was only a transitional stage.
