Under the background of globalization in the 21st centry, multi-cultures impact the whole world, penetrate all aspects of our life. It is an unavoidable topic on our national education,especially music education. In the inner mongolian ethnic minorities region ,our culture and music conception have always been diverse. Whereas, by the lack of the concept of multi-culture and multi-cultural music education, we should further strengthen our music education in our region. Based on this concept, I put the paper into three parts to discuss the music education of ethnic minority under the Multicultural Education under the background of music education from inner mongolian senior normal schools.The first section is about development and research regarding the basic ideas of multicultural music education. It introduces briefly the various aspects of a multicultural music background. It then continues to explain multicultural music, the meaning of multicultural music, and furthermore elaborates on the rationale behind this particular topic.The second section is about my personal research involving four colleges and universities of Inner Mongolia; it includes my research materials and the interviews I conducted in addition to the organization, analysis, comparison and summarization of my investigation.The third section proposes some countermeasures to the lack multicultural music education and offers suggestions in regards to five points. The hope is that when in time multicultural music education has become the main subject of global education, each school and university in Inner Mongolia will benefit from reforms, continue to strengthen its understanding of multicultural music education, train highly qualified teachers, help the education system at the elementary level, and serve the entire society.
