Generally, adverbs of degree can not modify a noun in the criterion of modern Chinese grammar. However, we have found that the structure of"adverb of degree + noun"has appeared frequently in oral and written languages in recent years. It becomes a popular speech phenomenon with the novel combination mode and unique expression. Although most Chinese teaching materials haven't referred to this phenomenon, we can not deny that the structure of"adverb of degree + noun"has rationality of existence, and it increasingly becomes a relatively stable structure.In Chinese language circle, the early discussion on this structure particularly focused on whether it is accepted in grammar? And latter scholars mainly explained this phenomenon mainly from semantic angle of nouns. In order to have a knowledge of this speech phenomenon more exactly, it is absolutely necessary to conduct analysis on the grammatical structure and discussions on semantics. However, when this structure is becoming more and more popular, it should be realized that there are more underlying profound reasons concerning the mechanism of social culture, pragmatic cognition and social psychology, etc.This paper begins with the description of the"adverb of degree + noun"structure,and then conducts discussions from semantic cognition and introduces the cognitive semantic analysis and the concept of cognitive context. Finally, it presents some explanations from Sociolinguistics, so there will be a more profound and comprehensive understanding of this speech structure.This paper analyzes Chinese language with the theories of cognitive linguistics and endeavors to provide a fresh and novel vision for the study on this language phenomenon.
