Absurd: The Explaination Of Sutong's Novels

In the modern literature of China, Su Tong is an undeniable author without doubt. His works not only benefits from his unique life experiences, but also directly connects with the modernism literary trend of the Western firmly. Su Tong looks gentle and refined in both speech and deportment, but behind the calm externals contains his distinctive understanding about the lives. So if we try to approach the Su Tong's distinctive world, we must pass through the dense fog in a romance and understand the author's distinctive meaning of the world. This is just the gist of the text. The text try to discuss the absurd character of Su Tong's works from three identities. The identities include the author's aesthetic perspective. The spacious collide by the Traditional thoughts of the Eastern and the Western modernism make the Su Tong's works penetrate the absurd surroundings.The text contains four sections. In the preface I try to found Su Tong's generalization upon his ideas. Su Tong's words presents an appearance of poetic, and his works contain a profound philosophy and implication. In the multiple narrative the works always imply a main clear idea, so pursue and find the idea is the key to enter Su Tong's works. This is the main purpose of writing the text. Now what is the main idea of Su Tong's works? How is it formed and affected the author's writing? In the first section I mainly discuss the author's lives influence his works. During checking Su Tong's lives and his works I am surprised that Su Tong always escapes from the absurd surroundings of the solitary, abomination and desperate. In many essays Su Tong often talks about his unpleasure children's lives that was a time along with death. Because his serious lung disease, Su Tong was forced to be blocked away the happiness and pure life in children, and he realized the adults grief well in advance. During decoding the works I give importance to the unpleasure lives in the childhood that Su Tong always mentioned in the essays. It is easy found that the main idea of his works relates firmly with his distinctive childhood. Because of his mortal illness Su Tong grew up with his parents'careful while in the unstable time of the 60es in 20th century, the parents cannot pay close attention to the child's delicate feelings. He sampled mostly horrified of losing independence and controlled from his parents more than tender affection, so he eager to escape from the horrification. He yearns for a distinctive life and to the possibility of all kinds of lives. He wants to probe for the absurd of the lives and pierce through all his novels with the absurd feeling. The main idea makes his novels a unique literature landscape. The finding of the main idea is the key for me to understand his novels including absurd. All of his unhappiness childhood and trifling of the adults present great meaning in the reflection of the main idea.Although I pay a great attention to the author's unhappiness lives in childhood, I still hope to interpret the works by the more complex social relationship, the author's experiences and the text. This is just the context of the second section. The main idea of his works is not only by the author's children lives and the fear, but also intensified by the whole social surroundings. Being subject to the thought of"Death of the body"and"the death of the mankind"the magnificent theme such as the value and meaning is all deconstructed As the result the whole mankind turned into a fragment being. However the deconstruction cannot fade away the being anxious of the mankind. As an active implementer of modern theory Su Tong cannot dodge the critical awkward either especially give up the humanistic care as a learner. Based on literature surroundings, it is not difficult to find that the works contains cultural self—examination. In spite of how much sadness in his childhood however, Su Tong gradually broke away the fear and terror by the means of writing.In the third section I will concrete analysis the shaping of the texts based on the field of the narrative including imagination, imaginary and mirror image. Su Tong As an professional author, went on the literary arena by advantage of elegant poems at first, then his words has made marked the feeling of poetic, bewildered and indescribely free. Much of his lives experiences might be regarded as the variation of literature main thoughts. So the author's lives may be considered the hidden text which take the form of mutual texts with the written one. That is, there exists a deeper and mutual testified relations between Su Tong's creation and his daily lives. Su Tong's writing cannot do without his understanding about lives. It is emphasis that my drawing on the experiences of Su Tong's lives is based on his essays. In lot of essays he talked about his distinctive understandings about lives that is concrete for the writing. As for Su Tong, the writing and his actually life is unanimous in fact. Su Tong wants to write vary style texts not identical character. For Su Tong every text means a distinct life experience. In this way writing is living as well as living is writing to make realize his other being.
