As the writing for recording Chinese language, Chinese character is one of the oldest ancient characters, which has a history of over 5000 years, as well as one of the characters with the largest number of users in the world. Chinese character is the representative of ideographic writing that is provided with unique pictographs and symbol system. Because of its pictographs, the Chinese character is just like a painting using concise and clear forms, and exerting the brushwork function like dotting the eyeball in painting a dragon, as well as adopting technique of combining spirits with shapes, so as to put the culture characteristics of its era locked in dots and strokes structure of character creation, and make one feeling to hear sound and see real scene himself. Chinese character indicates the word's meaning and transmits the information through objective and differentiable pictographic components, and by means of systemic and reasonable combination, this process is the generative course of designed images, which is also a kind of information visual communication.From the perspective of visual communication, the text analyzes and expatiates the expressed "visual characteristic", "visual ideographic characteristic" and " imaging genetic characteristic of information" of Chinese character in the process of visualization, which always focuses on the main features as pictographs and uses the forms to reflect the ideographic meaning of Chinese character to perform the elaboration, and endeavors to explore the common points between Chinese character and visual communication.
