Research On The Oracle Pictograph

Based on the previous research,This paper continues to study Oracle Pictograph under the condition of new research material. We also make a new interpretation and definition on the Pictograph. On the base of the new research material and the definition, this paper mainly refers to two aspects: one is the quantity of statistical character and another is the evolution of Oracle Pictograph. This paper is divided into five chapters, they are as follows.In the first chapter, we make a simple description on the overview of the previous research and the new research material. In the second chapter, we make a detail explanation on the definition of Oracle Pictograph and compile statistics of the amount of these characters. Based on the existed material, we find two hundreds and forty-two Oracle Pictograph altogether. In the chapter three, we separate the two hundreds and twenty-two Oracle Pictograph into fourteen categories from the angle of image and make a calculation on each category. The chapter four makes a simple analysis on the formation of the Oracle Pictograph and its cultural connotations. In the last chapter, it talks about the development of Oracle Pictograph in the《Shuowenjiezi》small seal characters from the angle of amount and structure type.
