After the Anti-Japanese War broke out, Guangxi became the Anti-Japanese War's great rear area. People moved to the interland massively. People's exchange was more frequent. New thought and new ideas were accepted easily. The people's material life had the enhancement, and the quality of life was improved. New entertainment ways like movies, parks, sports and so on also gradually entered people's daily life. The inner world was day by day rich. Some social bad customs which include much feudal and decayed backwardness were abolished. The people formed one kind of new life ideas gradually. This was a progressive symbol and valuable transformation.We have an inspection to the social life changes of Guangxi in Republican China. We can see that it has the following characteristics. First, because of the environmental and historical relations, Guangxi's social life had a big difference in the East-West section or between town and country. The social life presented bright in the east, but conservative and backward in the west. It was suitable for the latter. Second, the governmental predominance was obvious in the social life. This characteristic which the political power involved life domain caused the social life changes quick. Third, the Anti-Japanese War was remarkable to the social life changes. During the Anti-Japanese War, people, industry, culture and other social elements were moved to the interland massively. They played a major role in Guangxi region. Fourth, starting late, but its change was quick. Guangxi's social life changes fell behind to the southeast coast. Because of new Kwangsi's political power, the change was fast. These changes appeared in the political leadership of new Kwangsi clique and the construction. It reflected Guangxi's appearance. We may have a profound undstanding according to it. First, Guangxi's social life had a transformation from tradition to modern gradually. Second, the long-term backwardness of economy and culture restricted Guangxi's modernization. Third, new Kwangsi clique had a dual function to the social life changes.Therefore, they can not really change the people's life in Guangxi although their influence had been so great. Nevertheless, we should also see that this change is a higher level of social change. It is limited, but its influence is profound.
