A Study On He Xun's Psychology And Poems

Though not a master, but he is a representative for Nan Dynasty's literature history. His landscape poem is outstanding and arresting, Gong Ti poem very well complimented, but there is strong solitude in his poems come down today. The essence of poem is to express emotions which is the manifestation of the poet's psychology status, and psychology status relates to the poet's life experience therefore affects the poet's taste and presentation format. This article is based on the poems to visualize the poet which in return helps us to understand better the poem. Focusing on the emotions, this article unscrambles He Xun's poems with two parts respectively on poet's psychology and the feature of the poet's emotion expression.The First part is to analyze He xun's solitude in the poems by using the history clues. From the time point of view, He xun's solitude had been with him all through his life, the four stages of his life were lonesome and depressed. From the space point of view, He xun's life was alternate in"retreat"or in"participation", but the solitude was with him no matter he was in retreat from the society or in the participation into the society。Reasons for the solitude are as the following: Firstly, inability to develop rigorously his family status when the family situation was going down. Secondly, conflicts between the reality and his ideal. Obviously there was no noble reasons for his solitude, he had been trying to escape the constant solitude and depression ( which is call"passive solitude") by making friends and visiting landscapes, but in vein and his life were drained away in the endless solitude.The second part is to probe into the features of emotion expression in He xun's poems. The solitude in the poet led his poem mainly to yearning for home, intention to retreat from the society, the attachment to friendship, longing for understanding and proper opportunity for participation in the society. The content of the poems were characteristically centered around the poet's melancholy individual feeling, not much on the society. But it revealed the human being's common feelings. He xun's way of expressing his emotions were diverse mainly by Poems for Presenting and Replying ,Five Speech Poems, scenery , events and other people. He xun denied his situation and expressed his aspirations by saying yes or no to which he selected in his poems. This is the major characteristics of He xun's emotion expression. All the above features, to some extent, is a disclose to his solitude and his efforts to break away from the doomed and endless solitude.
