| Chinese book-carving industry has reached a high level in the Qing Dynasty. The south of the Long River has been the center of the book-carving industry. Zhenjiang, located in the south of the Long River, has a long history of book-carving. This text initially collects the information of Dantu, Danyang, Jintan and Liyang - the four countries of Zhenjiang, then analyzes. In the Qing Dynasty, there were more than two hundred books carved in Zhenjiang, and most of them were written by local people. The amount of Dantu's book-carving was the most. Other countries' amount was much the same. Among the books, Jibu was the most, and then is Zibu, Jingbu, and Shibu was the least. During the Xianfeng and Minguo period, the amount of book-carving was the most. Compared with other cities in the south of Long River, the book-carving activity in Zhenjiang was not active. Though located in the south of Long River, Zhenjiang's economy and culture was not developed enough, so there was not a big amount of book-carving. But it still saved a lot of local documents. |
