| Yuan zhen is a main poet during the Mid-Tang Dynasty who has been researched by many learners up to now. The study on Yuan Zhen is going to be deeper and deeper since Mr. Chen Yinke's Notes and Commentary on Yuan Zhen's and Bai Juyi's Poetry. It's also achieved great successes in Yuan Zhen's experiences, Yuan Zhen's moral characters, his poetry and his novelette. But as to his"Yan"poetry and his"Daowang"poetry there are lots of disputes on many respects at the academic field. So it is still necessary to further study and discus on them to dispel people's misgivings on Yuan Zhen and his workings and recover its own characters and facts of the history of Yuan Zhen and his workings to the utmost. After telling the study object and summarizing the situation to Yuan Zhen's study at the academic field, it briefly introduces its study scope, contents, and purpose on the text. In the preface it will deal with the following questions in another words. At first, the author must point it out that the study is not on every aspect in Yuan zhen's"Yan"poetry and"Daowang"poetry, but it will discuss some important and difficult questions in them which based on the author's comprehension on the study of Yuan Zhen at the academic circle. It also will deal with their artistic characteristics in some degrees. Secondly, the author must point it out the"Yan"poetry in the text is the poetry in which the author describes the life and the mood of women, it includes most of the poems for women in Mr. Ji Qin's Yuan zhen's anthology in which Yuan Zhen describes the life and the mood of women in his period. It includes two parts: the poetry for his lover and for his wives, which is a good reflection of his own inside world and the poetry for common women in his period. It has not only some difference with the"Yan"poetry which people comprehend in life but also with what Yuan Zhen himself had said in the Letter to Bai Juyi on Poetry. And the"Daowang"poetry is pointed at the poems written by Yuan Zhen for his dead wife, Wei Cong. The study of this text contains two parts:Yuan Zhen's"Yan"poetry and Yuan Zhen's"Daowang"poetry. Finally, in this text it is the author who adopts the ways to study by comparing Yuan Zhen's experiences with his workings as well as by comparing the poems and the workings themselves each other. It has only one purpose that by which it will do the best to keep the author's study with the facts of Yuan Zhen himself and his workings. In Chapter One, the author discusses Yuan Zhen's"Yan"poetry. It is going to discuss some problems such as the poems for his lover, the poems for his wife, Wei Cong, the poems for his second wife, Pei Shu, which are good reflections of Yuan Zhen's own inside world and the poems for common women in his period and so on. There are not only lots of disputes on the experiences of association between Yuan Zhen and his lover but also on the poetry for his lover written by Yuan Zhen in the academic circle all the time. The author holds a standpoint that there are twenty poems handing down up to now in all that Yuan Zhen had written for his lover. After carefully studying the facts in the poems for his lover and his experiences, it draws a conclusion that it happened in the period between the 10th year and 11th year in Zhenyuan in Mid-Tang when Yuan Zhen is infatuated with his lover in Chang'an. The point that is believed by Mr. Zhou Xianglu and most people in the academic circle that it happened between the 16th year and the 18th year in Zhenyuan in Mid-Tang when Yuan Zhen fell in love with his sweetheart in the Temple of Pujiu is not correct. The facts in the poems for his lover and the stories between Miss Cui Yingying and Mr. Zhang what happened in the Story of Yingying cannot be looked as the same. It is also the real facts that the sentiments of Yuan Zhen to his lover and to his wife are fresh and true according to Yuan Zhen's"Yan"poetry. The argument that Yuan Zhen was a cold man and Yuan Zhen was not honest in his marriage is not proper. It had portrayed maids and queens in imperial palace, singers and dancers, common women and women Taoist priests in the other"Yan"poetry that is written by Yuan Zhen. Yuan Zhen had expressed his deep sympathy for them in his poems. What's more, some poems had been expressed his parable obviously by Yuan Zhen.In Chapter Two, the author studies the Yuan Zhen's"Daowang"poetry. It is going to deal with the poems for Wei Cong written by Yuan zhen after she died. Three problems are discussed in it which contains the source and course of"Daowang"poetry, how many poems and when Yuan Zhen written for his dead wife, Wei Cong and the characters of them. Among them the second problem is the most important in Chapter Two. The author believes that there are not thirty-three poems recognized by people traditionally but fifty-two poems which Yuan Zhen had written for his dead wife after studying his poetry and his experiences carefully. According the poetry for his dead wife, the mood of Yuan Zhen to his dead wife is very true and movable. What's more, it has own artistic characteristics in his"Daowang"poetry. It is easy to understand and often adopted the way of comparing to express his deep sorrow after his wife died. Also Yuan Zhen often describes the surroundings to double his grieved mood after his wife went away from him to the haven. By picturing a dream Yuan Zhen expressed his sorrowful emotions very truthful, and Yuan Zhen become the first man who frequently adopts"dream"to express his own mourn to his dead wife in history. Finally it will express some wish of the author about the study and some experiences leaned through his ways to research Yuan Zhen's poetry according with the evaluation about Yuan Zhen at the academic circle. The author keep an argument that it must try the best to be keeping with the true facts when we discuss a man in ancient time not with our own bias or only with the conclusion which is drawn by predecessors, or we may misunderstand the people in ancient time and their workings. |
