| Nowadays there are a lot of left-behind children in our country because parents are out of their hometown. Left-behind children'families were half-baked and parent-child education was absent, which resulted in mentality and behavior problems of left-behind children. Self-esteem is one of nuclear-components of self-system.It is not only main drive of individual behavior, but also the determinant of health of body and mind. So it is necessary to explore the characteristic of self-esteem among left-behind children and its'family influencing factor.Based on the previous studies by others, using the questionnaire of left-behind children,CSES,EMBU,FACESâ…¡-CV and so on , randomly adopting 489 students from 2 middle schools and 4 elementary schools, we mainly explored the characteristic of left-behind children,the grade differences and gender differences, we also studied the self-esteem level of different keeper types of the left-behind and the self-esteem level of no left-behind. In addition, we investigated the relationships beteen the level of self-esteem of left-behind children and the family environment. In order to exploring the conclusions, we interviewed left-behind children.The conclusions were followed that:1,The trend of development of left-behind children'self-esteem: the level of self-esteem development increases in the grade four and five in the primary school, and decreases rapidly in middle school, The grade one and the grade 3 of middle school were the low paddy and also the key and trasition stage in the development of the self-esteem.2,There was no significant difference in self-esteem between different gender, self-esteem of female left-behind children was higher than that of male left-behind children. The trend of self-esteem of female left-behind children was"V", and the trend of self-esteem of male left-behind children was"M"from the fourth grade in the elementary school to the third grade in middle school. The first grade in middle school was key period.3,There was no significant difference in self-esteem between left-behind children and no left-behind children. And there were no significant difference in different keeper type of left-behind children.4,The level of self-esteem of left-behind children in different types of schools was significantly different, the level of self-esteen in the primary schools in the middle school of village and town. 5,There was significantly negative correlation among family Cohesion,family Adaptability and the self-esteem of left-behind children. The temporary family environment factors had a certain effect on self-esteem of left-behind children.6,The warmth and understanding of male and female keepers of the parenting styles were inversely related to the self-esteem level of left-behind children. The warmth and understanding of male keepers had negative forecasting function for the self-esteem level of left-behind children. |
