"Xiang+N+V" Structure's Perspective Investigation

By comparing " xiang+V+N " and " xiang+N+V " structures, this is intended to study " xiang+N+V " and the shifting conditions between these two formats from "denotation -connotation-evaluation" perspectives. This thesis consists of fives parts.The introduction summaries the research results which have already been achieves about " xiang+N+V " structure, confines the research range of " xiang+N+V" format, offers theoretical basis and research methods, and explains the source of language data and selection.The first, second and third parts are the body of the thesis based on the "small triangle theory". The thesis fully observes describes and explains " xiang+N+V " format from the "denotation,connotation and evaluation" perspectives, it is considered "xiang" means "hope, intend" in " xiang+N+V " format and " xiang+V+N " format. V is a typical verb, N is a typical noun. However, the format determines that n,v have their particular requirements. From the perspective of denotation, the two formats have both connection and difference. Its connection is that the two formats are interchangeable, and have levels of relationship. Its difference is that the two formats have different levels of relationship. In " xiang+V+N " format, the bigger level is "xiang (nv)" verb-object relationship; The smaller level is also "vn" verb-object relationship. In " xiang+N+V " format, the bigger level is"(xiang N)V" joint relationship, the smaller level is "VN" verb-object relationship. If the " xiang+V+N " format changes into " xiang+N+V " format, it must satisfy three conditions from the perspective of language evaluation . By comparing " xiang+N+V " and " xiang+V+N " ,it is considered " xiang+N+V " format is widely used in written language, and the subject always uses it to express his/her insipid attitude towards ,and it can also be used in somewhat hopeful context, but in such context it must add adverbials of degree such as "very, quite"; However, " xiang+N+V " structure is generally used in spoken language ;it is the variation of " xiang+V+N " .It is more flexible to express meaning; the most obvious characteristics is that N is placed in front of V and becomes the focus and core of meaning; it is the most important information for the speaker towards N. Moreover, the thesis also describes and explains some peculiar phenomena of " xiang+N+V " format. The last part of this thesis is the weak points and the questions which needs further research.
