Research On Evaluation Of Web-Based Course Of Teaching Chinese As A Second Language

With the rapid development of web-based TCSL in the new era, the quantity of web-based course of TCSL also has got a sharp increase; therefore, how to guarantee the quality of web-based course has become the focus increasingly in the teaching field. With accordance to the evaluating theory and criterion, and based on network database, this paper studies out an evaluating system of web-based course of TCSL, which is aiming at fixing present problems occurred in web-based course of TCSL.The emphases and difficulties lie on how to establish an evaluating index system in accordance with web-based course of TCSL. In regard to this, we took "Specifications for Evaluation Web-Based Course" as a criterion, and we figured out the evaluation index cent of each index of the research. After we reviewed many web-based courses and teaching websites, we concluded that we should specify the index system of web-based of TCSL from 9 angles: course description, defining content object, content sequencing, recourses, learning objectives, communication and collaboration, motivation and attention, practice with feedback, assessment. After this, we refer to the teaching characristics and rules of elementary, junior and senior courses, and inquire experts' suggestions, finally we confirm the evaluation index system which tally with web-based course of TCSL.Technology of network database and ASP (Active Server Page) has been adopted in realizing this evaluating system. The whole system consists of three parts: student module, teacher module and administrators module, each of them has different rights, balance and function. Teachers and students mostly evaluate the web-based courses, and the evaluation will be recorded and analyzed automatically by computers. Therefore, after evaluating, teachers and students can review the detailed explanation for the evaluating record. The manager plays a role that make corresponding adjustments to the system according to the operating practice, which can lead to a more comprehensive and objective evaluating record.
