Ryazanov Elidar Aleksandrovich is a comedy master of realism. His films are known to all in China. In this thesis, the author begins with an introduction to the classical plots in the following three films: Teased by Fate, The Stories in Office, and The Railway Station of Two Persons. Then she points out that his films are not the comic works in general sense but the combination of comedy and tragedy. The latter should be considered as the blending and extension of tragedy and comedy. It has both the composition of tragedy and that of comedy. Usually it has a satisfactory ending of comedy. In it, the conflicts probably bring about the effect of comedy.In this thesis, the author mainly introduces the artistic style of Ryazanov's combination of tragedy and comedy. The three works are the combination of tragedy and comedy with the lyric coloring. His creation of the combination of tragedy and comedy emphasizes the mixture of emotional factors and comic ones. It is evident in his three works mentioned above. It is one of the major feature of his lyric comedy to reflect the realistic social life, especially the life of unimportant persons. Meanwhile, he reflects the realistic life at that time as well as a series of social problems to reveal various malpractices of the Soviet Union in 1980s. His works fiercely satire on the current malpractices and have outstanding linguistic features. The characters in his works all have distinct personality. Apart from that, the beautiful music and songs are another shining point in his works.At present society, the popularity of Ryazanov's works lies in their rich ideological connotation.
