"Satire" is often seen as a self-evident concept,but there are multiple connotations if you do carefully analyze.Satire is a rhetorical method,and it widely exists in literary creation;it is a kind of literary genre with its own unique genre norms;in addition,it has multiple aesthetic forms,which is not only regarded as one of the comic aesthetic categories.It has been included in the research field of comedy,and at the same time,it has completed the construction of self-research field in modern times,and has a relatively complete theoretical form.Part of the modern Chinese satirical concept is derived from ancient satire,and the other part is influenced by the concepts of Western "satire" and "irony".The word"satire" is used repeatedly,but the same word bears different meaning.This article focuses on "satire" as a concept of development,discusses the process of the formation of satirical concepts,and the historical and cultural connotations contained in the process of meaning transformation.The full text consists of five parts,including the introduction,the main body of the three chapters and the conclusion.The introduction part clarifies the three layers of satirical connotation,and summarizes the current satirical theory research,and emphasize the importance of satirical theory in the study of satirical literature.On this basis to clarify the research methods of conceptual history and define the scope of the research.The first chapter analyzes the word "satire" from the perspective of etymology,pointing out that "satire" is not a Japanese foreign word but a word inherent in Chinese history.However,in the process of continuous use,the meaning of the word has changed,belonging to the ancient word has new meaning.Through the analyse of ancient vocabulary,it points out the inheritance and development of modern satire on ancient satirical semantics.In the process,paying attention to the influence of Western vocabulary,it outlines the process of connection between "satire" and "irony"during the process of Chinese-English vocabulary translation.The second chapter discusses the development of the concept of satire from the perspective of genre.In the process of modern Chinese literature transformation,the emergence and development of the type of "satire novel" makes "satire" have the connotation of literature.The satirical novels under the new novel craze are the forerunners of this type of theory.Since then,Lu Xun has completed the theorization of the type of satirical novels.The development and improvement of the satirical genre has given satire a new aesthetic feature.The third chapter discusses the completeness of satirical theory from the perspective of aesthetic form.With the development and improvement of the concept of comedy in modern times,the research field of satire comes into comedy and has become one of the sub-categories of comedy.In this process of discussion,satirical has gradually possessed the comic characteristics,and at the same time it has a close connection with laughter.In addition,along with the promotion of satirical literature by the left wing,satire completed the construction of theoretical forms.The serious political satire advocated by the left shows the particularity of the satirical form of this period.The conclusion summarizes the evolution of the satirical concept of this period,outlines the construction process of the satirical research field,and discusses its influence on the satire of the 1940s.
