Sengkelinchin, Zhasake prefecture prince of Left-Wing Back Banner in Qorcin, had been imperial-guarding minister, guards-leading minister, the commander of the Eight Banner, Imerial Commissioner and so on during Daoguang, Xianfeng and Tongschi of the Qing Emper. He was one of the most patronized Mans-Mongols's close and trustful ministers, and he was asle a main representive of Duter Mongolian princes and dukes standing by the Qing Emperors. During the Xianfeng 3th year,Taipingtianguo made Tianjing(Nanjing) the capital and it ruled Southeast China. At the same time, It sent the Northern Expeditionary Army, and soon the army went near Beijing, which shocked the Qing dynasty's regime. Sengkelinchin was ordered to lead the Eight Banners of Beijing camps and the green camps for attacking and surrounding. At last, the Northern Expeditionary Army was supressed. Because of his batlle contribution,he was promoted to Bodaoliegetai prince which could be heired. This paper bases on the book The Files and Historical Records of the Qing dynasty government putting down Taipingtianguo to systemically arrange Sengkelinchin and the troop's action of supressing the Northern Expeditionary Army in order to darify the foundamental historcal events as well as emphasizing on the Mongolian mounted troop and the horses situation which were drafted and requisted to put down this army.This paper is divided into nine sections: (l)Sengkelinchin's brief intrduction (2) (8)The Mongolian mounted troop's wartime treatment, equipment concered and horses'supply as to the battle role of Mongolian officers and men (3)The measures of his supervising the capital patrol and defence as to the capital stable order (4)The Counselling Minister to defence the capital.
