| Content: Music teaching for non-majors, an extension of primary and middle school music education, has become an important part of the optional courses in institutions of higher learning. Great progress, in terms of scale and quality, has been made in the recent twenty years. And the arrangement of curriculums has been improved. Important as it is, the course of composing teaching has been ignored in some institutions of higher learning.Based on the aforementioned fact and the related study we have done so far, this paper holds it is of much necessity to have composing course for non-majors. Considering that no elated study has been done so far in this field, from the theory teaching and course teaching of music composing to evaluation, this paper proposes a model for music teaching for non-majors, which takes into full account the inter change ability and convenience of computers.To make our study more authoritative, all the statistic figures are based on the questionnaires answered by the students from so colleges and universities, In addition, we've referred to many related theoretical books from which we have obtained some valuable information.This paper concludes that having composing teaching for non-majors is of much necessity and feasibility. To achieve the best results, the construction of this course is supposed to fully consider the characteristics and differences between music majors and non-majors.The objective of our study is to initially construct a composing teaching system for non-majors in agreement with the public music teaching purpose, characteristics and regularity and to arouse the experts and colleagues to make a further study in this field. |
