Studying on disyllable words is one of the important subjects on the investigation of Chinese vocabulary. While studying on disyllabic words of some special works has great significance to the state of the investigation in a certain period. Zhuangzi is one of the precious existing materials to explore mandarin vocabulary in the pre-Qin Dynasty. From the history on, there has been a great controversy about its author and construction, which concerning whether it consists of the following three parts, that is Nei, Wai, Za. Therefore studying on disyllabic words can not only facilitate us to know the characteristic of disyllabic words in the pre-Qin Dynasty, but also help us to testify the complicated relationships existing among Nei, Wai and Za from the linguistic perspective.The article firstly makes a strict delimitation on the differential standards of disyllabic words and phrases in Zhuangzi, and then combines the static description with quantitative statistics to analyze from the structure and induce disyllabic words appearing in nei pian,wai pian,za pian. On the basis of analysis and induction, we get some important findings which are further compared, meanwhile using reference of other bibliographies and comparing them both synchronically and diachronically, we finally come to the conclusion that "nei pian" appears earlier in history than " wai pian" and " za pian " and the epoch for the appearance of Wai and Za is identical in general.
