College Students' Altruistic Behavior,Empathic Ability And The Correlation Research

This study reviews college students' altruistic behavior, empathic ability and the correlation between them by means of questionnaire and private interviews, which take 173 college students as subjects. These college students, including 66 male and 107 females, come from Nanjing Normal University, Huhai University and Nanjing Medical University. This article analyses the present situation of college students' altruistic behavior and empathic ability, and reach to draw a conclusion by demonstration:1. now, the most college students have altruistic idea, they are willing to share with others , cooperate with others and help others . But some college students' altruistic behavior still needs developing and rising further.There is sex discrepancy among the altruistic behavior of college students for all the subjects. But there is no obvious discrepancy whether the student is singleton or not, whether he or she is student cadre or not, whether how is his or her political appearance and whether he or she comes from city or rural.2. The mood understanding and communication ability of 77. 5% college students is under the general level ( including general level). These college students feel hard to hold the feelings of other people correctly. It's very few for them to consider for others, and also them can hardly get good communication effect with others. Sympathetic ability of 93.6% college students is very poor. They can't grasp the psychological state of others; they can't understand other's affection, mood and thought. The empathic ability of College students is seriously poor.There is sex discrepancy among the empathic ability of college students for all the subjects. But there is no obvious discrepancy whether the student is singleton or not, whether he or she is student cadre or not, whether how is his or her political appearance and whether he or she comes from city or rural.3. The correlation between altruistic behavior and empathic ability of college students is extremely notable.
