A Study Of Classifier Measure Words In Yuan Dynasty

Classifier measure word is one of the Chinese characters, its number is large and its history is long .It is great significant in theory and practice to study classifier measure words about it's history, and it can enlarge our knowledge in the history of Chinese language, it is benefit to construct scientific system about he the history of Chinese language. This thesis takes the documents in Yuan dynasty as the base, and studies the classifier measure words in Yuan dynasty, I hope that it can provide some benefits to construct scientific system about the history in classifier measure words.This thesis analyses at some length the situation of classifier measure words in Yuan dynasty by means of combing synchronic description and diachronic research. First, I divide the classifier measure words in Yuan dynasty into two, including Ming classifier measure words and dong classifier measure words. This thesis respectively studies the individual, the partial, the indeterminate, the specific of the Ming classifier measure words, and respectively studies the general, the secondly general, the outgeneral of the dong classifier measure words. To the every classifier measure words, the author tries to take its earliest period and the earliest usage and connect the later documents and modern Chinese (including dialect), even study the usage in Yuan dynasty and explain how it changes in the history. The thesis reveals the appearance and the character of classifier measure words in Yuan dynasty and affirms the importance of Yuan dynasty in Chinese classifier measure words history.
