Seeling The Relationship Between Tang Dynasty And Uighur From Tu-Dong Event

The relation between Tang Dynasty and Uighur has very special significance in the developing history of China being an united multiple-nationalities state. During the course of communicating with many frontier nationalities, the relation between Tang Dynasty and Uighur is quite different. Studying this duplex relationship is very helpful for us to sum-up experience and lesson, in hope of using for reference in today's nationality relationships The communication between Tang Dynasty and Uighur has both peaceful coexistence and conflicts. But seeing from collectivity, solidarity and friendship are the mainstream of their relationship. This article has selected the Tu-Dong Event as a cut-in point to study the relationship between Tang Dynasty and Uighur, by analyzing the occurring ,developing and solving of Tu-Dong Event , to get a perspective view of a good many elements in the developing course of this two sides'relationship ,also we can summarize lessons and experiences for using as reference in dealing with nationality relations. This article can be divided into four parts. The first part introduces how Tu-Dong Event happened, by analyzing its root, to explore changes of the relationship between Tang Dynasty and Uighur after "An-Shi chaos". The second part takes Tu-Dong Event as an cut-in point to discuss the handshake between Tang Dynasty and Uighur which based on mutual interests in economy ,politics and military affairs. The third part discusses the continuing development of the relationship between Tang Dynasty and Uighur after Tu-Dong Event, although experiencing many difficulties, it became much closer. The fourth part discusses reasons of continuing developing of the relationship between Tang Dynasty and Uighur by analyzing the correct resolution of Tu-Dong Event and gets correct methods in dealing with nationality problems. In a whole word, during the near-300-year-communication of Tang Dynasty and Uighur, objective conditions decide that both sides should depend on each other, at the same time, subjective factors which mean much more reasonable nationality policies of Tang Dynasty as well as Uighur rulers'brightness also play a very important role.
