Jin culture was a major cultural system in the north of ancient China. So many scholars have paid more attention to it. However, it is a pity that nobody engaged in studying that those bronzes of the Jin preculture should be regarded as Jin bronzes. This article first claims that it is important that the study of Jin bronzes not only broadens the field of studying Jin culture, but also develops the studies of Jin culture and other bronze cultures.First of all, the author carries out the studies of the cultural elements in order to find the origin of Jin culture, to prove some historical materials and to make up for some imperfections. The studies of the cultural elements are based on a lot of work of classification, preordination and dating of the Jin bronzes. It is a solid foundation for later and further studies. The author classifies Jin bronzes including both the unearthed and the earthed into five groups, and deduces the different cultural element of each group. From the cultural element analysis, the author thinks that the development of Jin bronzes is very complex and there are 5 cultural elements make up of Jin bronzes. Each cultural element played a very important role in shaping different styles into Jin bronzes' appearances. The author gains a new view to "Nine parts of Huaixing", through uniting a great deal of materials including historical materials, inscriptions on shells, inscriptions on bronze, and so on. Also, The author believes that "Tang" was the first feudatory of "Shuyu", which lies in the south of Shanxi Province. Before "Tang", it was controlled by "Xian", who was a very important nation in the later period of Shang Dynasty and the ancestor of "Fan" who lived in the Spring-Autumn Age. Because different cultural elements affect the processes of both coming into being and developing, Jin culture has many cultural elements. From this study, the author makes sure a lot of historical materials, such as the relations between Jin and the other nations. It is the intercourses and wars have very important effects on Jin bronzes.
