Research On The Cultural Implication In WuMingshi's Literary Creation

This thesis is a comprehensive and detailed study about the modern author Wu Ming-shi. The study about Wu Ming-shi has developed into an open and multi-situation in 1990s, but that is relatively somnolent situation if we observe Wu Ming-shi and his creation from a cultural perspective. Hence, the paper has certain vanguard significance in this sense, which in turn serves as a foundation of the composing of the paper. The important purport of the paper lies in carding,integrating and pursuing different cultures including western culture,Chinese traditional culture and religion culture which got entangled and merged in Wu Ming-shi'writing and thought from angle of culture study. At the same time , the paper also attmpts to point out the special culture visual angle and Wu Ming-shi'pondering over human being's culture modernization, and pursues the significance on the study of Wu Ming-shi'in contemporary time. The thesis starts with a brief introduction to Wu Ming-shi'life and creation. His creation can be divided into 3 stages each one has different features. The stage of exercise in composition——Sino-Japanese literature; the stage of reputation——success in secular sense; the stage of philosophical reflection——Wu Ming Shu . The paper points out that Wu Ming-shi is a pursuer of "new belief"judging from his creation as a whole. Wu Ming-shi'creation can be traced back to the origin of traditional culture and the influence of the traditional culture are discussed in the paper. The two aspects involved are: main body of creation and object of the creation. It is belived the characters portrayed by Wu Ming-shi reflects his personality of traditional culture and the idea of "TianRenHeYi", which is the quintessence of traditional culture reflected in his creation is analised. The paper cards the western culture background and influence in Wu Ming-shi'creation. Western culture is a bottom of his creations. His creations reflect multi-dimensional cultural perspective and cultural characteristic. His creation is considered as an integration of romanticism and modernism. Meanwhile, from art perspective it is revealed that modern flavour abounds in Wu Ming Shu , which is brought by music and drawing . The paper then analyses religion makings in Wu Ming-shi'fictions .Wu Ming-shi'view of religion is mainly an fusion of all kinds of religions. Based on a comparison with Lu Xun and Wu Ming-shi, the paper attempts to display the romantic feature in his construction of Chinese culture. His bold experimentation on pursuing the Chinese cultural modernization from a religious perspective is made clear to readers. The paper relats the contemporary significance on study of Wu Ming-shifrom macro-perspctive. There is a kind of reflection about history inertia and "middle people"mentality in the course of Wu Ming–shi study. This is an inspiration for contemporary research on literature. Wu Ming-shi wants to use his cultural reflection to promote the Chinese cultural modernization. He points out the "road culture "after "road Caesar"and makes metaphysical inquires on life and man's destiny, shows his outstanding artistic style which is embodied in his creation. After surmount history inertia, we can gaze at Wu Ming-shi'receding figure from "today's windows", who left us a lonely and dignified landscape which is worth profound thinking .
