Since the first work of 1984 made the fairy tales of the village of the North Pole until 90's, Chi Zijian used a lot of imagery like cold snow , beautiful tear fish ,sad moonlight, magical fishing season to depict a floating north drawing with poetic language. She constructs "imaginary" and "substantial" two types of imagery with the author's strong feeling, that mix together the stories and the conditions. Firstly,This paper discusses the main art feature and the aesthetic consciousness of the two types of imagery according to the imagery of Chi Zijian's works. Moreover, this paper puts forward the effect of the Chinese present female literature and expects the trend in the future. Chi Zijian's imagery in her novels is beautiful. We can see various of imagery like the myths that are imaginary, magical and enchanting, when to open her poetic works. Chi Zijian just used the quiet soul to catch the view of the North in one beautiful and pure fairy tales with the imagery, composed a song for the nature. Chi Zijian's novels also often used the substantial imagery like vast snowfield, vast fishing flood and thick and black solid that seemed so serious and decent to make the readers feel the atmosphere of the magical village of North Pole. As Mr. Zong Baihua talking about "substantial", the substantial imagery in Chi Zijian's novels often make the readers surprised and moved. The imaginary imagery and the substantial one are dependent each other. Chi Zijian used the two types of imagery——the imaginary imagery and the substantial one perfectly, so that her works are infectious. I think the features that Chi Zijian used the imagery in her novels are as show in the following: (1) The Poetic Imagery Chi Zijian is good at observing the life with all of her sense organs even her heart and soul in the novels'creation. She uses the vivid poetic language to depict the varied and graceful imagery, and impress the readers deeply as feeling on the scene (2) The Colorful Imagery Chi Zijian often uses bright color beautiful language to express the atmosphere of imagery, and beautiful inner world and the poetic life sentiment in her novels. (3) The Imaginative Imagery Chi Zijian likes to select new, wonderful comparisons and accurate appropriate verbsl to reappear the true features of the imagery in her novels. (4) The Repeated Imagery Chi Zijian adjusts and controls the imagery in the narrate process so that they appear repeated and changeable.
