| Solitude is a concept that developed to refer to a sort of behavior of the ancient officials and scholars and its important position in the Chinese tranditional culture can not be ignored. Zhang Yanghao is a reprensetative of the scholars in official circle in Yuan dynasity, and his poetric songs on the topic of solitude is of typical significance. His works have revealed the malpractice in the official circles in his period and the contradictory state of mind of the scholars lingering on the dilimma wheher to advance in the offical career or to keep in solitude. The article will study Zhang Yanghao and his poetric songs from the following perspectives: First, Zhang Yanghao's itching for solitude and his experience of hiding from the mundane world, In this part, mainly combining his promotion in official career and combing his course of escaping from the worldly surroudings, the reason for his going into sulitary will be analyzed from the aspects of times and subject; Second, Zhang Yanghao' thoughts that embedded in his poetric songs. They include his admiration and appreciation for the famous hermits, the wilful and comfortable jubilate of escaping from the common world as well as his exposing and criticizing the danger of the official persuits and pondering over abandoning the fames and profits and the true value of life; Third, the cultural connotation of Zhang Yanghao' poetric songs on solitude. This part will mainly interprete the Confucian thoughts on human nature and humanity and taoist spirit of freedom which are containing in Zhang's literary works; Last, the aesthetic features of Zhang Yanghao's poetric songs on solitude. And this will be discussed respectively from his aesthetical outlooks, his style of multi-element coexistance and his ways of expression by intergrating both refined and vulgar tastes together. And the author of the paper hopes that he can make any breakthrough in the research on the basis of the previous studies.
