Vocabulary teaching is an important part of external Chinese teaching, but it has always played an assistant role. Furthermore, the research on the method of vocabulary teaching is comparatively weak. In recent years, Pro. Lü Bi-song thinks profoundly over the fundamental way of external Chinese vocabulary teaching. He believes that the teaching way we use in external Chinese teaching is the same method as western language teaching, namely the teaching method of "Word Standard" which considers the word as the basic element of language. This method does not match with the characteristics of the Chinese language. On account of that, this thesis, by means of the fundamental theory of lexics and a second language teaching, conceives of a more practical "Teaching Methodology of Morphemes" which answers much more to the law of Chinese vocabulary teaching.Put forward as the fundamental way and strategy of external Chinese vocabulary teaching, the Teaching Methodology of Morphemes is not just confined to the range of words or Morphemes, but a teaching principle with great significance as a whole. The research on Teaching Methodology of Morphemes is just underway. It is involved with many concrete problems needing further study: scientific and reasonable teaching outline,closely harmonized teaching material and practical teaching methods; all these work has to be completed before carrying out teaching Methodology of Morphemes. Althong students can deduce unknown words' meaning through known morpheme and words by Morpheme Teaching Method, it needs to grasp the implementation stage and the teaching object's selectivity in the practical situation; facing the "Morpheme Teaching Method", the morpheme and word-building study is also the contents of this paper.However, the "Morpheme Teaching Method", which follows the nature of the Chinese language and advocates morpheme is the basic element of language, represents an innovative teaching idea. The paper explores the reliability and basic factors of this new method.This task would have some positive influence on changing the backward situation of studing and teaching polysemant in TCSL. Further studies in this field also need to be followed.
