Various viewpoints have come forth under the background of globalization, thetrend of world culture is one example. There are two kinds of opposite issues, conflictedor amalgamative, on the trend of world culture. Universal Culture could come intoexistence or not is one of the focuses argued by these two sides. The advance ofUniversal Culture is just best wishes of some people. Generally, those who agree withculture amalgamation agree with Universal Culture; who agree with culture conflictoppose Universal Culture. Universal Culture is a new issue, and the discussion about Universal Culture is stillat the beginning stage, so it is not easy to find articles or works which couldsystematically argue about it. The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of WorldOrder published by Sammuel P. Huntington in 1996 is a masterpiece on the trend ofworld culture. Huntingtondrew a conclusion from the angle of clash of civilizations thatUniversal Culture is impossible. This paper tries to break the former method thatopposing Universal Culture from the angle of culture conflict, and dissertates theimpossibilityof Universal Culture on the basis of insist in culture amalgamation. Closely encircling the center "Universal Culture", through detailed analyzing frommacroscopical angle, the paper demonstrates the impossibility of Universal Culturefrom the definition of Universal Culture, the refution of wrong opinions towardsUniversal Culture and the analysis of two pairs of contradictions between universalityand nationality of culture, and successionality and variability of culture. Finally, thepaper has also made a superficial forecast on the trend of world culture: fromharmonious but different to amalgamative but different.
