Construct "A Tower In The Crossroad"

The new literature campaign of 五.四 not only need to criticize the tradition of old literature, but also need to construct the new literature. Criticisms had different opinions to the essence of literature for it's complication and abstraction which hasn't perspicuity line among literature poem and article. Zhou-zuoren's conception to the essence of literature is that literature is personal showing. He expounded Zhi and Dao in particular, so as to different from the meaning in classical literature. He made them be the criterion to differentiate literature and de-literature. Zhou-zuoren's conception of personal showing is not estrangement to life but in relation to life by art angle. Zhou-zuoren believe that literature is futility but useful which including four sides: the origin of literature, literature and author, literature and politics, literature and reader. He criticized the standpoint that literature is usefulness to society and revolution. On the grounds of these theory, Zhou-zuoren expounded his conception to the construction of new contemporary literature in structure, content, language and style.
