| Rise of the Renaissance in Florence Italy was a catalyst for forming of Italian opera art and gradual development of opera has been creating a number of remarkable composers. The excellent works and active improvements in creations made by composers , moreover, has been accelerating the spread and evolvement of opera and therefore large quantities of great singers working on opera performing are appearing. Many singers have established their own unique school of vocal music. Among them, Pier Miranda Ferraro is one of the representatives of Italian traditional vocal music style. Being an outstanding tenor, Master Pier is also a well-known vocal music educationist of present Italy. 30- year-long teaching experience has seen his teaching method coming into being. It incorporates traditional elements into modern ones and students are taught in accordance with their aptitude under instruction of Pier. This thesis analyzes and studies the vocal music methodology of Pier Miranda Ferro, Italian famous tenor and educationalist for the purpose of knowing, learning and applying western method of vocal music art.The paper takes up the following three parts one by one.Firstly, Italian opera and the artistic career of Pier are introduced based on the author's on-the-spot interview. The charming personality and artistic achievements make the author realize the important part that is played by vocal music performance of Italian style and Italian music education.Secondly, Italian traditional system and methods vocal music education is analyzed and researched through the knowledge on European social and cultural backgrounds, history of vocal music education, and pier's personal instructing. In this part, the author discusses whether the distinctive teaching form and content practiced by Pier , which is combined with science and humanities have the possibility of passing by. Special emphasis is laid on the process of teaching that is directly form Pier to the author.Lastly, an ending.
