This paper probes into the translation of Buyer's Guide (BG) article, a rising form of practical writing. The analysis is to be narrowed down to the translation of techno-BG article, which shares some of the stylistic features of news, advertisement and technical literature. The translation of techno-BG article counts in terms of research value and challenges, since the techno-BG article has distinct features of its own.Based on the stylistic analyses on the techno-BG article, the paper suggests four translation strategies, namely, Internet support, oral style, localization-oriented and zero translation. Then the paper proceeds to delve into the translation tactics for three specific phenomena, i.e. neologisms, culture elements, and errors in the source text.The paper concludes that techno-BG article deviates from other forms of practical writings, and that its translation calls for theoretical support and constant practice.
