Yi Man Zhi, the representative work of novels in classical Chinese and mystery stories during Song dynasty complied by Hong Mai, is also the biggest one of collected novel works in classical Chinese. Ti Jian Zhi belongs to the mystery stories, but it describes the society and culture at that time.This thesis attempts to analyze the ghosts and gods stories in Yi Jian Zhi from the cultural viewpoint, which consists of four parts. Foreword part makes a simple review of the studies on Yi Jian Zhi and ghost cultural in literature realm, and elucidates the meaning of writing. I, The world of ghosts, gods and demons in Yt Jian Zhi. This part introduces the stories of Yi Jian Zhi according to the difference among ghosts, gods and demons. It is the foundation of the whole thesis. IK The several modes of ghosts and gods stories and cultural analysis on them. This part induces the stories into four kinds of modes and analyzes them respectively from the cultural viewpoint. It is the main part of the whole. IIK The succession and development of ghosts and gods stories in Yi Jian Zhi. This part puts Yi Jian Zhi into the whole history of Chinese Classical Literature, analyzes its contents and art technique and explains its influence on the literature of later generations.Through the analysis, we can not only kown Yi Jian Zhi wholly, but also understand the society and the culture of Song dynasty.
