Study Of Subjects On ShuoWenJieZiYiZheng

GuiFu was an outstanding linguist of Chinese history .He was one of the four famous experts in ShuoWen of Qing dynasty. He was diligent in researching Chinese ancient linguistics and wrote ShuoWenJieZiYiZheng with all his life in spite of the poverty and difficulties. YiZheng obtained evidences from a great deal of Chinese ancient documents. Its emendation was careful and examples were abundant. YiZheng's stylistic rules of interpretation and its original method of explaining ShuoWenJieZi by synonymy came to its own special system. However, in a long period, few scholars studied GuiFu and YiZheng. It is not equal to its value.This paper explores four subjects: three kinds of stylistic rules of YiZheng, the emendation of YiZheng, the argumentation to synonym of YiZheng, and GuiFu's linguistic theory and idea. We try to dig out GuiFu's methods of hermeneutic and make a generalization to his distinguishing features and deficiencies.
