| As far as explicit forms are concerned, grammar on titles should be phrase titles, which are modifier-center phrase, verb-object phrase, verb-complement phrase, compound phrase, and appositive phrase. In terms of surface structure, subject-predicate titles aren't lack of subject and predicate; what's more, compared to natural language, it seems that they have the same syntactic structure, that is, natures of titles aren't very apparent. However, if we investigate subject-predicate titles on its inner forms (include syntactic structure, semantic structure) and pragmatic effects (include receiver selection, rhetorical effects, titles practice), we find that titles show many natures different from natural language. The dissertation attempts to search subject-predicate titles (especially titles of newspapers and magazines) and its related structure which few people search, arranges and concludes them on inner forms and pragmatic effects, and analyses its existing reasons, and provides reference to media, through applying structural theory, transformational theory, empty category theory, valency grammar, cognitive theory, pragmatic theory on linguistic theory (especially grammar theory), and applying methods of connection and comparison. The dissertation bases on full and accurate data, takes frame which sum up firstly, and discuss classify: chapter I discusses its meaning, nature and classification; chapter II studies typical forms and its related structure; chapter III studies its restrict factors and its applied errors, so that embodies conduction and practicality of language study. |
