Li Qunyu was a famous poet of late Tang Dynasty. He put his personal frustrations into the epoch calamity that learned from Qu Yuan and Song Yu, and reminisced the Southern Dynasty. For this reason, his poems appear fresh and delicate .His poems principally describe the famous mountains and great rivers, the places of historic interest and scenic beauty in Hunan of the ancient times. Li Qunyu was one of the most prominent delegates of Huxiang culture in Tang Dynasty because his poems present strong local culture color. It is since 1980's that Li's works have been further studied, and the research is mainly about his poetic features and achievement. But on the whole, the present academic circles don't pay enough attention and the current literary history doesn't attach much down him even though that talk lacks of thorough, penetrating and further studies. In this paper, author attempts to talk about his poems from the aspects of particular region and background, study the tragic emotion , style, the great influence to others by comparing statistics and analysis. At the same time, expect to show his systematic achievement of his poetry, in order to expand and enrich the academic space of Tang poems.
