The Defamiliarization Effects On Zhang Ailing's Novels

Zhang Ailing is a very charming novelist in Chinese history of literature of the twentieth century. She in her 20抯 became well known with her special literary talents in Shang hai in 1940抯. Her short and glorious writing caused various comments.Using the modem western literature esthetic methods to explain Zhang抯 novels have already become a tread at home and abroad, and had obtained some achievements. Influenced by Russian Formalism theory, this thesis explained her stories in a defamiliar way.The introduction pant of this thesis generalized literature at home and abroad, and the frame work of this thesis.Part one is about defamiliarilation in plot genre. Zhang抯 novels show the gloom in life and the weakness in human抯 nature from the marriage life, which differentiates from not only the mainstream fraction of literation which focused on problems in current society, but also the traditional love stories which emphasized the plot which neglected the character抯 mentality.Part two elaborates from a narrative angle. Zhang抯 novels used 揑?,which eliminated the fixed 搉arrating條istening?relationship between the author and the reader. The author and the reader in the same angle, which made 揑?appeared more objective and calm. 揗ultiple Selective Omniscience?angle. Selects scenes by the sight of present characters, which not only weakened the author抯 feelings, but also stucked out the characters?mentality with specialized language.The third part introduces the defamiliarization in language. The language in Zhang抯 stories is specialized in it抯 colorful, musicalized and narrative expressions, so as to give the whole language a strong infectant power.The fourth part is about the dramatic and poetic feature in literary style. The plot structure of Zhang抯 novels is based on senery, which helped to push the conflict of character抯 mentality into a high level. Besides, her stories stress connotation which is expressed in an implicit way. Those connotations scattered have fully expressed the poetization in Zhang抯 novels.
