The Research On The Use Of Mandarin Chinese By Peasant Laborers' Children In Urumuqi

Extending standard and implementing standard Chinese Characters are the basic policy of our language and words .The result of extending and implementing is outstanding ,especially in urban areas ,since the job was begun .However ,the situation that Standard Chinese is used between in rural areas and in urban areas contrasts sharply. The using situation that peasant laborers as well as their children living in urban and rural areas is well worth paying attention too.This athesis uses questionnaire ,obserration and interview to survey this issue.The thesis consists of six parts:the first part is the introduction, which generalizes the background of this research .clarifying the purpose and significance ,defining the key concepts and recalling the past research ralated to this issue of the scholars at home .The second part introduces the research approaches ,the interviewes and samping.The third part is the research result and analyses ,which is made up of five aspects :first ,the basic information of peasant laborers'chilren ,the second ,the mandarine-use situation ,the third ,the difference analysis of using mandarine ,the fourth ,the effecting factor analysis, the fifth, what efforts have been made by school on implementing mandarine among peasant laborers'chilren.The fourth part is the conclusion and main problems found in the survey .The fifth part is the suggestions aimed at solving the problems.The sisth part is the epilogue ,in which the author talks about her gain and enlightening in the meanwhile, painting out the defect of this thesis.The result shows that compared with the madarine level reported by themselves, the mandarine-using situation among peasant laborers'chilren is ideal, the situation at school ,in society and at home decreases progressively ,the higher grade the peasant laborers'chilren are in ,the better the situation is ,the female is betterr than the male ,the longer peasant laborers'chilren live in Urumqi the better it is .There are several factors influencing peasant laborers'chilren in Urumqi who use mandarine ,their mandarine levels, gender, age ,how long they have been in Urumqi ,their parents'attitude towards language, the attitude of their own and the language atmosphere of their families.So the author raises the following suggestions based on three aspects from school , peasant laborers'chilren'parents and peasant laborers'chilren, in hopes of extending mandarine among peasant laborers'chilren improving the mandarine level and using rate.
