Meanwhile, the amount of floating children increased, too. In this social context,the needs satisfaction of the migrant laborers and the prosocial behaviors of the floating children were attracted much attention. The research took 410 couples of father/mother and sun/ daughter in Junior Secondary Schools in Dongguan city to investigate the relationship of the needs satisfaction of migrant laborers and the prosocial behavior of their floating children.This study will not only understand the needs satisfaction of the migrant laborers to help our country to improve the lives of migrant workers, but also reveal the relationship between the needs satisfaction of migrant parents and the floating children’s prosocial behavior, prompting countries to take effective measures to improve the level of the education of children, helping the parents to understand the education of their children,so as to improve the floating children’s prosocial behavior.The research results were listed as follows.(1)The needs satisfaction of migrant laborers associated with their parenting styles. There was significant correlation with the survival need satisfaction and the absolutist and the doting parenting styles. Esteem need had significant correlation with the supportive and the warm parenting styles,and the development needs also had significant correlation with the supportive and the warm parenting styles. It indicated that migrant laborers who led by the survival need adopt a more negative parenting styles.(2)There existed significant correlation between the parenting style of the migrant laborers and the prosocial behavior of their floating children.The survival needs satisfaction was negatively related with the openness and emphatic of the migrant children’s prosocial behavior were and related with anonymous and altruism. There was significant correlation with the survival need satisfaction and the openness, anonymous and altruism. Esteem need satisfaction had significant correlation with the six dimensions of the prosocial behaviors. It showed that if the more negative parenting styles the migrant laborers take,the less prosocial behaviors their floating children show.(3)The parenting styles were as an intermediary between the need satisfaction of the migrant laborers and prosocial behaviors of their floating children, The need satisfaction influenced the prosocial behaviors by he parenting styles.This research indicated that the need satisfaction of the migrant laborers was the important factor to influence the prosocial behaviors of their floating children, which played a role by the migrant laborers parenting styles.Therefore, if we wants to improve the children’s prosocial behaviors,we must put a high value on the need satisfaction of the migrant laborers. | Keywords/Search Tags: | migrant laborers, floating children, need satisfaction, prosocial behaviors | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
