In the Yuan, Yao people were the groups floating in the surface of the society. Their uprising is not only caused a stir in society, also made some kind of threat to the ruling class. At the same time, the historical materials of Yao people are rich, but very few people used and in-depth academic research. Therefore, historical materials on this topic and related issues compiled research become the purpose of writing this article. Through the historical materials of Yao people, this paper analyzes the uprising of the Yao people, and reflects the basic situation of the people. Second, this part introduced the previous studies.
