Since the enrollment expansion of higher education, regular HEIs (higher education institutions) have been a main part of Higher Education in China. Compared with key colleges and universities, the regular HEIs are generally located in prefecture level cities with unfavorable district environment and schooling conditions, poor candidate quality, which result in College English teaching low level and low efficiency for a long term. So many regular HEIs have carried out College English Differentiating Instruction in order to change low level and efficiency in College English Teaching, which means to teach students according to their aptitude. What is the present situation of College English Differentiating Instruction in regular HEIS? What are the factors influencing College English Differentiating Instruction? What should be implementation srategies of College English Differentiating Instruction in regular HEIs? The deliberation of the above issues is the foundation of the paper.Starting from epoch background, reality appeal, students' actuality, etc., the research considers that executing college English differentiating instruction can teach different students in accordance with their different aptitudes, which will make English talents showing up and students with learning difficulty catching up as soon as possible, to effectively solve time consuming with inefficiency and guillotine problems of college English teaching in regular HEIs. Combining the writer's teaching experience for years, taking a rugular HEI carrying out college English differentiating instruction as a case, according to the technological routine of detecting problems-analyzing causes-proposing remedies, exerting some discipline theories such as learning transfer theory in pedagogy, i+1 language input hypothesis in linguistics, etc., the research comparatively carefully and painstakingly probes into the relevant issues of college English differentiating instruction in regular HEIs, and tentatively come up with its implementation strategies by means of literature analysis, classroom observation, questionnaire and profound interview, aiming at providing theoretical and practical reference for its better implementation.The suggestions and countermeasures for regular HEIs here are also to be further proved and improved in the author's practice and research in the future. |
