Among the papers on the curriculum research of Music Education for the Regular HEIs ( the Non-Music-Majors) , there are many elaborating on the innovation of the theories, objectives, content and pedagogy of the course, in contrast, on the textbooks currently served for the course, there are few, to meet this need, this paper is written.This paper concerns three textbooks, namely, Music Appreciation by Wang Yaohua, Wu Xiangtao, The Basic of Music Appreciation by Kuang Hui, and Comprehensive Music by Zeng Yanxuan. Composed after 1990th , these three are recommended jointly by National Education Bureau and Music Association of the Higher Education. To Compare these objective textbooks, three methods are employed in this paper, respectively, they are comparative analysis, bibliography informatics, and appraisal predictionThis paper covers three chapters. The first chapter surveys the history of the music textbook compilation, offering a research background for the further discussion. In the second chapter, the three textbook mentioned above are compared systematically on the aspects of the compiling theories, objectives, structures, content, language style and the characteristics. The third chapter, generalizes the contrastive differences and similarities of the three textbooks, besides, puts forward some constructive advices on the compilation of textbooks of the sort.
